Have you came across any incident when your manager informed you that you have not removed the existing spreadsheet properties while reusing an important file received from your strategic customer? And now this secret customer's name is disclosed to its competitor who is your another potential customer!!
To avoid such situation you can use the Document Inspector tool available in MS Excel. This option helps the user to check the hidden properties or personal information.
So once your document update is over, you can visit the FILE option and click "Check for Issues" option. Refer as shown below.
Then click "Inspect Document" option. This will lead you to the document inspector dialog box. In this, you can see the different properties available in the document. You can further inspect which is relevant and which is not.
Once you click the "Inspect" button, MS Excel will check all the hidden properties available in the document. This will also allow you to delete any available properties which you don't want it to include and share it with other stakeholders/ customers.
For more details on Document Inspector and its different features other than file properties like Hidden Rows and Columns, Hidden Contents and Invisible Content etc. Please get in touch with me at Samrat.biswaas@gmail.com.
